good bye, japan!

What an amazing 2 weeks! I think what I enjoyed most was experiencing daily life in another ethnic culture. The Japanese put so much emphasis on quality, excellent customer service and attention to detail. I can be so America-centric and was reminded that there are other ways of doing life. Props to my mom and her intensive planning and my dad's generosity for allowing my sisters and I to enjoy such a wonderful vacation!! Today (which is Thursday in Japan), my parents and I are catching a flight to arrive in LAX, Thursday afternoon PST.

After 7 years it is finally time for my Amy to leave the Charlotte House nest. We’ve had some good times and some scary times with shootings on our streets, ant infestations, cockroaches, busted garbage disposals and strange smells emitting from our fridge. But through it all, Amy was a great housemate. She is a caring and generous individual with a true servant’s heart and I will miss her greatly as she goes off to Henderson to become a doctor. As she’s been moving out, the house has begun to feel empty. The absence of her wall art, big tv and electric keyboard have left gapping white spaces in our living room. Like so:
